What students are saying about us:
Having encountered many martial arts instructors and having dabbled in many different styles I found LSAI refreshingly realistic and practical as well as Angelo's open minded teaching approach.
I feel that LSAI principles and techniques provide a "no frills" realistic approach to situations involving edged weapons and more importantly the instruction was relaxed, but professional.
Many instructors claim to be open minded in their beliefs and teachings, but then discourage an objective discussion concerning the validity of the techniques they teach as well as allowing an objective discussion or actual implementation of outside techniques or principles.
I did not encounter any of these hang ups with Angelo. He not only invited discussions of outside techniques and principles, but allowed me to incorporate my previous learned knowledge in with our free sparring sessions.
I highly recommend anyone to study LSAI with Angelo.

As a newcomer to the system, I find it better from an instructional perspective than anything I've run into besides my hapkido system back at IU.  Most martial arts have a scattershot approach to the techniques you learn at lower belt levels.  There's a set of stuff for each belt that somebody broke up based on relative difficulty, and they teach it more or less at random.  What my old hapkido system had in common with Lightning Arnis is that somebody sat down and thought very hard about what to teach when.  As a result, lessons build on one another much more effectively.
